How to sell n8n templates and keep 85%

If you build n8n workflows for yourself or for clients, you can list them here as ready-to-buy templates. Buyers pay by card through Stripe Checkout, download your files after payment, and you keep 85% of each sale.

This page explains how selling works on the platform, how to export an n8n workflow cleanly, and what a listing needs so that a buyer can get it running without writing to you first.

How selling works, step by step

Step 1: Create a free account and set up your seller profile. Sign up for a free account and open the seller area in your dashboard. Before your first listing is submitted you confirm your email with a short code. New listings are reviewed before they go live.

Step 2: Create your listing. Describe what you built, set a price, upload the files and choose the n8n category. There are no listing fees.

Step 3: Wait for the review. New listings are reviewed before they go live, so check that your n8n files are complete and that the description is complete.

Step 4: Buyers pay and download. Buyers pay by card through Stripe Checkout, then download your files and read your setup instructions straight away.

Step 5: Request your payout. Once your balance reaches $10 you can request a payout from your dashboard. Requests are reviewed and paid by PayPal or bank transfer.

What a sale looks like

Sellers keep 85% of every sale and there are no monthly or listing fees. For an n8n workflow priced at $50, the platform fee is $7.50 and you receive $42.50.

Workflow price $50.00. Platform fee (15%) −$7.50. You receive $42.50. The 15% platform fee covers payment processing, hosting and support. This is the same example as on the pricing page.

Exporting an n8n workflow

An n8n workflow is stored as JSON. In the workflow editor you can download it as a .json file from the workflow menu, or select nodes on the canvas, copy them and paste them into another workflow. Buyers bring it back in with the import options in the editor: import from a file, import from a URL, or paste.

Before you export, clean the workflow up:

Remove anything you typed straight into a node, such as tokens in a header, keys in a Code node or personal email addresses. Credentials are kept separately from the workflow, so use them for every secret.

Clear pinned test data. Pinned data is saved with the workflow and can contain real names, emails or records.

Replace IDs that only exist in your accounts (spreadsheet IDs, folder IDs, channel IDs) with obvious placeholders and list each one in your guide.

If the workflow calls other workflows, include those sub-workflows too and say in which order to import them.

Note any community nodes the workflow needs, because buyers have to install them before the workflow will open without errors.

What a good n8n listing contains

A setup guide that walks from import to first successful run, with the order of steps.

A credentials list: every credential type the workflow uses, which account it connects to and what permissions or scopes it needs.

The version you built and tested on, plus your own version number for the workflow, so a buyer knows what they are importing.

Screenshots of the whole canvas and of the key nodes, and sample input and output so buyers can see what a run produces.

The trigger, spelled out: a webhook, a schedule, or an app event, and how often it is expected to run.

Whether you tested on a self-hosted instance, on n8n cloud or both.

Known limits, such as rate limits of the connected APIs or how the workflow behaves when an API call fails.

Self-hosted or cloud: say which you tested

n8n can be self-hosted or used as a hosted service. Environment variables, installed packages and community nodes can differ between the two, so a workflow that runs on your server may need small changes elsewhere. Saying what you tested on removes a common source of questions.

Where your listing appears

Listings are grouped into categories. These are the current live listing counts for the categories most n8n sellers use.

Workflows go in the n8n category, workflows built around AI agents can go in AI agents, and several related workflows sold together can go in Bundles.

Refunds

Buyers can ask for a refund. Requests are reviewed case by case, and for standard products they must be made within 14 days of purchase. A clear setup guide and an honest list of requirements are the best way to avoid disputes.
